How to Keep Your Bathroom Organized and Clean

Read Time:3 Minute, 59 Second

Keep your bathroom organized and clean! You know you want to, but life sometimes gets in the way. The last thing you want is to add more clutter to an already crowded space.

It’s easy to let things get out of control when you own a bathroom. Your toiletries, makeup, bath products, and health and beauty tools all take up residence in the same place. It’d be nice if you could throw away all of your clutter once and for all and begin fresh with a clean slate and include a custom barn door bathroom door.

The fact remains that your bathroom probably has more stuff in it than an Olympic-sized swimming pool – so don’t freak out when we say there are plenty of tips for keeping it organized and clean.

1. Don’t keep too many bathroom items in one place

For bathroom organization, more oversized items like toilet paper rolls, toothbrushes, and shower curtains should be kept in a separate cupboard from the things you use most often, like toothpaste, facial cleansers, and razors.

More oversized items such as towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and even brushes should be kept in the same cabinet. You don’t need to have an organized nail salon or house, but try to keep things contained so that you don’t end up with a cluttered bathroom.

2. Put your most used items first

Whatever items you typically keep in one place, put them in the top rack of your dishwasher. This will help to keep your dishwasher from getting clogged and keep them from getting old and dull. Once your dishwasher is set up, it’ll be much easier to clean since you won’t have any extra junk to throw away.

3. Keep things as tidy as possible

When it comes to your bathroom organization, tidiness is vital! How can you keep things from getting out of control? Tidy up your hair, make sure your toothbrush is appropriately stored, and keep your face and nails clean. In addition, don’t leave your toiletries loose in the sink or toilet bowl.

It’s easy to accidentally drop something while brushing your teeth or taking a quick shower – so make sure they’re contained and out of reach of your toddler. Also, make sure to put your toothpaste in a plain, old jar with a tight-fitting lid. Plastic bottles and jars are bad for the environment and can leach chemicals into your water supply, so use reliable, glass jars or bottles.

4. Don’t forget to organize with a cupboard system

Cupboards are a significant source of bathroom organization confusion. Many people think that if a cupboard is just a few steps removed from the ground floor, it’s automatically less essential and less helpful. But that’s not the case. Your kitchen cabinets, the top shelf of your refrigerator, the inside of your toiletries bag, and even the frames and pictures on your bathroom walls all play a role in your bathroom organization.

Organize your bathroom with a drop-in organization system. This is a great way to help to keep your bathroom clean and your things put away. You can purchase inexpensive organizers from Home Depot or Lowes that will keep your small items neatly stacked, or you can make your own with simple wire hangers.

5. Clear out the old and the out-dated

It’d be a shame to throw away all of your old clutter when it comes to your bathroom organization. Keep a few of your old toiletries in an organized beauty case or inside a senior makeup organizer. Again, these things are helpful – once you’ve gotten rid of all of your old stuff. They’re just lying around in a pile of old clothes and papers in your bathroom.

Other items like your old makeup and skincare products should be given away or recycled. This way is in keeping with the entire environment-conscious philosophy of the blog. Anything you no longer need can be stored in a garage or attic. Once you’ve cleared out all of the old, the items you’ve been keeping in storage can be brought out and put to use again.

Keep your bathroom organized and clean. This will help you look better in the bathroom, but it will also help keep your house and furniture from getting out of hand. Not only that, but it will help to save time when it comes time to clean your house. Not only does your bathroom need to be organized, but so does your closet, bathroom cupboards, and even your car. A clean house leaves you with more time with your family and less time scrubbing and mopping.
