In the world of construction, leaks in concrete structures or infrastructure are typically disregarded as minor issues, but lately, leaking in concrete structures and infrastructure has received greater attention as a social issue. Continued leakage can significantly reduce the structural durability in addition to lowering property asset values and creating hygiene issues. Large infrastructures may collapse in extreme circumstances of maintenance carelessness. Waterproofing must be appropriately installed to assure the structure’s safety, durability, and usefulness because water is constantly present in many different types of existing concrete structures. In waterproof engineering, various waterproof materials are utilised to avoid water leakage, while high-quality watertight concrete is frequently employed in concrete engineering to prevent leakage.
However, in practise, the results of such waterproofing measures are not being fully exhibited, necessitating additional research and evaluation. The development of appropriate waterproofing materials or construction for the defence of below-grade walls and roofs on concrete structures are topics that are welcome for submission to this journal. We hope that this Special Issue will act as a catalyst for the creation of a scholarly forum that will foster a spirited discussion about how to create a systematised, global waterproofing approach for concrete structures.
Among the interests include, but are not restricted to:
- performance of waterproofing compounds for concrete constructions below ground and on roofs;
- concrete water tanks with corrosion-resistant waterproofing materials;
- materials that resist root penetration for artificial ground waterproofing;
- performance requirements for waterproofing materials and installation techniques;
- techniques for evaluating waterproofing materials;
- materials for filling in gaps in concrete constructions where water leaks;
- prevent concrete structures from having water leaks;
- technology for sealants;
- Other waterproofing-related technologies, including materials, processes, test procedures, etc.
Information on Submission of a Manuscript
By logging in and registering on the website manuscripts should be submitted online. Following registration, click here to access the submission form. Up until the cutoff, manuscripts can be submitted. Peer reviews are done on all submissions that pass the pre-check. Accepted papers will be listed together on the special issue website. And published continuously in the journal (as soon as they are accepted). The submission of research articles, review articles, and brief messages is encouraged. For papers that are in the works in , the Editorial Office can receive the title and a brief abstract (approximately 100 words) for posting on this website on Waterproofing contractors in Mumbai. The manuscripts that are submitted should not have been previously published or be in consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers).
Through a single-blind peer review process, every manuscript is thoroughly reviewed. MDPI publishes Materials, a semimonthly open access journal with international peer review. Before submitting a manuscript, do review the Instructions for Authors page .
